Kievan

The picture above is titled "Calcutta Zoo", Please click on it and have a closer look. Kievan has the kookiest sense of humour, I love his drawings as they usually uncover a highly imaginitive and perspicacious view on life.

Kievan prefers to draw mostly in HB greylead, and often depicts highly charged situations that require close attention to really see what's going on. So again, I urge the viewer to click on these pictures and move in for a closer look. Usually, there's a huge amount  going on in Kievan's pictures, and it's really worth checking out closely. Kievan has an amazing mind, his philosophical observations on life never fail to impress me, coming from one so young. He is an avid reader as well as artist, so I guess that helps develop the mind of a wizard!
I can see Kievan ruling a country one day, or at least a ministry or faculty, and I'm hoping that he will introduce drawing as a compulsory school subject to help the next generation to solve humanity's problems. Keep doing what you're doing so well, Kievan!

Sean Liam Carlos Harry

A very amusing collaboration between four Drawing Time boys.

Harry

Harry, I LOVE your drawings! Harry is such an enthusiastic artist in the club, he draws non-stop for the whole 90 minutes. One thing that I really enjoy about Harry is how he observes the artwork of the older boys in the club, and tries out the styles or colours for himself. He knows what he likes, for example, here he has been inspired by the colours Adian used in his name and the style that Ethan used in his recent work ( both can be seen in earlier posts), and he has come up with his own piece of art that looks just fantastic! Harry is also a collector of discarded artworks from the older boys, he finishes them off in a really clever way, sometimes completely transforming them with a new perspective. Harry, you are really a very talented artist, I'm delighted that you joined the club this year. Hooray!

Kievan and Liam

This is a super-duper-cool collaboration between Kievan and Liam, and I would like to see more collaborative drawings between these two, if this is the sort of art that's produced! Isn't it fabulous? Love the colours too, boys... more new texta colours coming tomorrow, so hope this entices you to come up with more more MORE drawings like this!

Darcy

Darcy is an exceptionally skillful artist, and when it comes to drawing birds and dragons in flight, he can draw the wings beautifully, even without an image in front of him to copy. He is really dedicated to getting it right, especially when it comes to the animal kingdom. I've learnt so much from Darcy over the years he's being drawing in the club, especially about this factor: paying attention to detail. Awesome work, Darcy! Congratulations!

Carlos and Mars

Sometimes a Drawing Time artist will cast aside his picture before finishing it, declaring the picture dead for whatever reason. I then ask if anyone else would like to finish it off. If no takers, then I'll finish it. So here's an example of a collaboration that has occurred in this way. Carlos began the drawing, I finished it, trying to imitate Carlos's style... see how he likes to use double lines? I love that effect, and it's fun to draw like this too.

Carlos

How's this lot of pictures from Carlos?
Very different styles going on, you'd think it was a group show, but no! It's all Carlos! Extraordinary talent you have, Carlos...I am sooo impressed!
The last one there on the left is called "In your imagination"... a very apt title for such a surreal piece of art.

Sean

What a visual feast from this amazing Drawing Time artist...it's Sean! He really knows how to put some real action in his pictures...they're awesome, Sean! Viewers, make sure you click on to the one just above to check out the detail in close-up, there's soooo much going on, and it's pretty full on when you get up close!!

Abir

Abir has not attended Drawing Time this term..he's too busy looking after his new little baby sibling. I found this picture of Abir's in my folder so I had to put it on the blog before giving back to Abir, because it's so great! I love Abir's artwork, and heard a rumour that he may be coming back to DT next year.

Ethan Allman

What's another word for "WOW!!!"???
El Supremo, awesome, cat's meowfar out, first-classfirst-rate, out of sight, out of this world, primo, sensationalsuperbunreal!!!

Ethan, this is a triumph! Keep this up and you will be able to pick and choose any gallery you like one day! This is just so beautiful, I would love to have this on my wall at home, but I probably wouldn't get any work done because I would stare and stare at it until I fall into a trance. I think this piece is an extension of  some of the indigenous art that Ethan's been working on with his Arthur, his art teacher at his school. Sensational!

Harry

Harry and I did a collaborative drawing this week, using our fantastic marker pens. It's amazing how two artists working on one picture just keep bouncing off each other as they draw. It's like a friendly game of ping-pong, including swapping ends. I think the bird popping out of the character who looks a bit like Pigsy out of the TV series, "Monkey", is eyeing off the hamburger on the ground and wondering who's going to get ti it first. And what about that poor old frog falling out of the sky? Don't fancy it's landing place.

And what on earth is happening in the picture on the left? I could guess that it has something to do with a dead body, in fact, a skeleton... and a dinosaur bone...buried deep in the ground...or rock...or cave...I am so intrigued by this amazing picture. Harry, if you're reading this, please tell me all about this picture next Tuesday at the next drawing session! I dont know how I can wait until then!

Check out this gorgeously amazing wild picture! It's the kind of picture you could stare at for days until you forget who you are completely! I am sooo impressed! Harry's really making the most of these texta colours, and inspired also I think by Ethan's latest masterpiece. Super deluxe, Harry!

Darc

Darc has produced this incredibly beautiful masterpiece. I love the way he has combined his own style with Indigenous Australian influences, making this a really unique piece of art. The new textas in Drawing Time have proved to be a tremendous hit, breeding a whole new approach to drawing for the boys. Darc has these textas at home as well, he has really mastered how to use them to best effect. This amazing piece of artwork by Darc has proved to be very inspirational for several of the other boys in the Drawing Club. Congratulations, Darc! Your art is incredibly beautiful!

KVG

Kievan attended my holiday Painting Time program, and ended up painting masterpieces such as above. I'm so proud to have such an artist as part of the club.
